About the Bibliophile
In a galaxy far, far away (also known as the state of Georgia) a young girl learned how to read. She was four. Her father taught her and began what has turned out to be the craziest two decades of their lives. Well, the only two of hers so far. But you know what I mean.
The girl was taught that books and stories were to be treasured. The minds and hearts of those who wrote them lived inside and had the power of art to affect emotion and life. Oddly enough, she was also raised Republican, but that’s another story.
This, however, is the story of the girl who has joined with her husband, father, and sister to liberate abused books from the factions of evil and restore them to homes that will love them. Actually, the girl is the one liberating the books – the family is along for the ride and has brought cameras. The girl is unashamedly silly, though, so she doesn’t mind. Her father also bankrolls the project at times because successful liberations make the girl blissfully happy.
The story begins at the end of December 2006, when the yard sale season is in recess, and the author and suspected lunatic is contemplating how to best restore, store, and adopt out her rescuees. It continues through 2007 and 2008, during the increased amount of family through foster care and into 2009 with the adoption of 3 beautiful children.
Enjoy the ride.

Cyndi,
I must say…I love the title of the project…it makes it sound so momentous and political (as it should be–saving books is serious business!). On the title alone, I have added it to my blogroll…but I also am enjoying your posts!
Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help the Abused Book Liberation Project.

Thanks Dave!
You’re already on my blogroll so I’ll be checking in.
I do hope you liked my “Care and Feeding…”; by coincidence I am also in dog rescue!
